There’s also an enjoyable walking route along the Clitunno River, an enchanting area that has been the source of inspiration for generations of poets from Virgil to Carducci. Start your walk from the Tempio di Clitunno to visit the springs of the Vene del Tempio emerging from the chalky limestone, or head to the summit of Monte Serano (1,429 m/4,659 feet) from Campello sul Clitunno for some great views of the surrounding area.
